Metric

On Saturday November 24th, Emily Haines, James Shaw, and the rest of the Canadian indie-rock band Metric performed in front of 9,000 fans at Toronto’s Air Canada Centre. The hometown show was in support of Metric’s new album entitled Synthetica which was released in June of 2012.

Though there was very little verbal interaction with her audience, Emily Haines still managed to win over her loyal fans through the use of her eclectic dance moves, harmonic vocalizations, and electronically influenced instrumentals.

Also worth mentioning, Montreal/Toronto-based band “Stars” put on an amazing opening set that focused primarily on their new release entitled The North.

With an abundance of disco balls spinning along to tunes that were reminiscent of the 80s, lead singers Torquil Campbell and Amy Millan showed the audience that an opening act could be just as good as a headliner.

The 45-minute set was jam-packed with fan favorites and recently released singles.

With both bands having ties to Toronto, I suspect that we’ll be seeing more from both bands in the near future.
